Some of their programs have Facilitated crash space to help parents attend graduation Provided winter clothing Been public awareness campaigns about how class affects ones experience at MIT Explored diverse backgrounds facing difficulty in areas like housing stability, consistency of access to food, and education And a lot more The CASE food insecurity team has Provided food care packages over the summer and IAP Advocated for a low-cost student-run market Facilitated food pantry cooking cupboards in all dorms for short-term food insecurity Been a voice for the 10% of students that have lacked access to food in the past year Personally this past semester Ive used a program they helped encourage called Swipeshare, a mealswipe donation pool from extra guest passes that help cover students who are food insecure.   Through a no-questions-asked s^3 meeting, one is provided a number of swipes into dining halls. Even as someone who was never on mealplan and has figured out cooking, this was really stress-reducing. So this past IAP we wanted to see how much food we could make with a very low budget. Make a list beforehand and save food so youre ready for rough days Pre-Shopping Strategies Carrying Bring a backpack and/or extra bags. Spare being charged $0.10/bag Get a Bike with a basket. I’ve carried ridiculous amounts of stuff between the basket, hanging stuff off handlebars, and my backpack Mealplanning Sample Meal List at the bottom Pick something for each meal of the week. It helps to be able to overlap the same ingredients between lunch and dinner, for example fried chicken and rice I can use for both meals. Or grilled cheese. So put what you’d like to eat for breakfast, and the ingredients underneath and see if you can duplicate ingredients across meals. Always have things that can be easily added to multiple recipes at multiple meals like onions, bread, and eggs. (bread=toast, sandwiches, etc) If you know you’re going to have a really busy week, stock up on ramen, frozen burritos, or hot pockets. I also just microwave potatoes or sweet potatoes for 10minutes and get a solid hot to-go meal out of that. And potatoes never go bad!!    #student What my actual list looks like: link to the google sheets here Making Grocery Lists Sample Essentials Groceries List at the bottom List out what you NEED before entering. It’s so easy to get lost and go in circles and be picking up and putting down things. Put approximate prices next to your needs and then the total budget at the top of this list. Make it your goal not to exceed it. If you’ve spare, then you can treat yourself to ice cream. Order the list in the order you’d come across it. Remember, supermarkets place candy by the cashier for a reason. If you can order your list in the order that you walk into it, this also saves time and wandering eyes. Buy things that don’t go bad fast. Meats are #1 at surprising you with their sadness. If you can’t cook it within the next two days you probably will end up throwing it away (learned from many sad tears). Things that are non-perishable are also fast and easy snacks like nuts and yogurt. Frozen Vegetables Are The Fucking Best. Microwave them, boil them, add them in your reheated fried rice, put them in your cup noodles, they’re just so easy and cheap! Make sure to use the freezer- it is your best friend. I do this all the time for chicken. It’ll even last a few months uncooked. Take it out the day before and have it thawed and ready. After I know what I need per recipe, I put them all in a Google Keep note Mealpacking Pack and freeze lunches in the freezer. Use parchment paper to wrap up the sandwiches and they’re good for a while, just grab them before class, find a microwave, and you’re set! Always have a tupperware on hand for when there’s a massive Bertucci’s pasta tray and you can take some home! Where to go MIT is officially a food desert, qualified as an area with no supermarket within 1 mile and a population of hundreds without a car. So you’re stuck with Hmart*, Whole Foods, and Harvest in Central ($$$) Trader Joes in Cambridgeport ($$) A big nice Star Market in Porter square ($-$$). Or Market Basket ($), in Union square(right off of Porter sq) also next to an Indian + Japanese Market called Reliable You might not have heard of Market Basket, but you may have heard of  another national chain, Wegmans, ranking #1 in the 2017 Consumer Reports for National Supermarkets. Market Basket is ranked #2. It is a massive, budget-friendly chain of 79 grocery supermarkets in the Northeast and one of the largest is right next door to Cambridge in Union Square, Somerville. They source locally for their own brand, which is partly why they’re able to keep prices so cheap. One month, I was able to spend only $50 on groceries there, and my flatmates consistently spend less than even that for their monthly budget. This was their receipt. *Hmart IS open until 11p which is kinda nice and of course has really great asian things Getting to Market Basket Hours: They’re open 7am-9pm every day, except Sunday where they’re open until 7pm. How to get there in order of lowest to highest carrying capacity Walking/Biking: (Free), Estimate 40min/20min Bus: ($4 roundtrip) The 85 bus from Kendall/MIT drops off right down the street from it, and is $1.70 ea way on your CharlieCard, same as your ID that you’d use to tap into the T, Estimate 15min on weekdays* Uber: ($6â€"10 roundrip) Simplest, but also not cheap, Estimate 10min, consider splitting one with friends *Google Maps will help Our Haul: Between Gloria and Bettina they spent only $16 on groceries for the week and split it in half. Glorias always cooked for herself and while Bettina is normally on mealplan, during IAP she wasnt. Over the week, they stretched their $8 into multiple meals for the week. That’s like the cost of a Clover Sandwich and a coffee in Kendall Square (no offense to Clover). And with that, this is what Gloria did with her groceries. 1 Week for $8: Gloria One week, I only had $8 to spend on food. I was able to make 12 meals and it lasted me the entire week, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Supplemented by MIT’s sheer amount of free food, networking luncheons, to dinners the President, I never went hungry. Breakfasts: Egg Spinach Sandwich w/sautéed onions and peppers (4 portions) Lunches Dinners: Chicken Fried Rice (2 portions) Chicken (sautéed in onions and peppers), Spinach, Rice Chicken Spinach Sandwich (3) Chicken w/ Peppers Onions, Black Beans, Rice (2) Black Beans, Caramelized Onions, Rice 1 Week for $8: Bettina I don’t tend to cook as much as Gloria does since I’m on the meal plan, my meals didn’t look as great, but I promise they tasted good! Outside of what is below, I used some spices and canola oil I already had, strawberry preserves I bought a few weeks prior, syrup, and a little bit of milk I got from a friend. The first meal I made was an egg sandwich â€" two pieces of toast and an egg fried in Canola oil. 1 serving White rice and chicken stir-fry. I made the stir-fry with chicken seasoned with salt,pepper and Adobo. I also added onions, peppers and spinach. I used one of the chicken breasts. 4 servings I made some scrambled eggs on toast with spinach. 2 servings Scrambled eggs and my first attempt at french toast. They came out pretty well and my friends on my floor liked them, too! Scrambled eggs were made with canola oil, salt, pepper and 1 egg. French toast was made with 2 eggs, milk and cinnamon (made 4 pieces of french toast). 2 servings A quick breakfast before running out of the dorm â€" 2 pieces of toast with strawberry preserves and a hard boiled egg. 1 serving Finally I made some rice and black beans. It took a while to cook the black beans, so I’d say if you’re just starting your cooking journey, maybe you’d want to start with canned beans. Along with the black beans, I used white rice, onions and seasoning. 4 servings So, in total, I was able to make about 14 servings of food for a bit over $8 worth of food. Sample List of Meal Recipes Breakfast Boiled Eggs: (Eggs) put eggs in already boiling water for 7 minutes and they’ll be perfectly soft-boiled. Save them in the fridge to avoid paying $4 for an egg at La-Verde’s Gloria’s Egg Spinach Sandwich: (Bread, Spinach, Eggs, Onions, Peppers) Toast two slices of bread, add some scrambled eggs and spinach. Wrap in parchment paper and freeze for future use Lunch Grilled Cheese Sandwich (Bread, cheese, butter) Cut a slice of cheese, put in sandwich and press in panini maker! In addition, leaders will need to have enough power and drive to actually make the changes. Employers should be able to create visions and set goals to ensure that visions will be reached in the long run. Management at synergetic solutions should communicate the vision as well as encourage others that it will work and they should go along with it. Rewarding individuals for jumping on board with changes and adhering to all its entities will make other want to jump on the band wagon as well. Companies must make all necessary changes to new vision so that it will be successful. Finally, reinforcing changes and demonstrating behaviors and success are important (Kotter). Changes to Company There were three different scenarios where decisions for the company were based on my opinion. In September, strategies that would help the company would be to improve workflow efficiencies and employee interaction. We would also need to improve organizational effectiveness and employee well-being. Making these things happen would mean the company would need to hire two individuals with relevant experience and certifications in networking design technologies. In addition, the synergetic solutions would need to outsource non critical tasks and business processes to reduce effort expended on projects (University of Phoenix, 2002). For the month of December we are going to reorganize the organizational structure and hierarchy, and invest in new technologies and tools. Charting a restructure plan and holding meetings to allow employees to voice concerns, and scheduling training for employees that need addition attention will help the company overall. When productivity goes up the percentage of absenteeism decreases with shows everyone is willing to do the work (University of Phoenix, 2002). In the final month as the company improves project accountability and establish processes. We as a company are able to focus on project performance, and encourage process improvements (University of Phoenix, 2002). Resistance Synergetic solutions may see resistance both on an individual level as well as group level resistance. In my opinion, when individuals go work for a  company they are assigned certain tasks to complete. Over the course of time they may feel these are the only things that should be done. When change comes to companies it makes people feel different kinds of ways in regard to change. On the individual stand point people are not willing to change because they are not sure of the outcome. Sometimes change is a good thing, while other times it can be bad for everyone. Five kinds of Resistance People have a tendency to resist things based off of things such as habits, fear of the unknown, feelings of security, many economic factors, and also group inertia. The saying goes old habits never die young, and this is something that many people may believe. When people become use to doing things one way, they are more reluctant to change. In addition, some employees may fear whether or not the change will be good or bad for them. Changes can also cause employees to lose the feeling of security within a place of employment. In addition, economic factors play a role in the aspect of if the new task assigned is not completed correctly jobs may be lost to individuals (Kotter). The final type of resistance is called group inertia and this happens when even though individuals may want to change, it is normal to just go along with group norms. Strategies to Manage Resistance There are ways to help aid in the process of making people feel better when being reluctant. Management can tell workers why they feel the company needs changes, and why those changes will be good for the company. If employees have questions they should feel comfortable coming to talk to management about things so it can be discussed further. Educating employees about all the necessary changes will allow employers to explain things, and point out all the positive reasons for change (Kotter). When employees are not comfortable with change offering training can be a great thing because it allows the opportunity to take on new things. An employee will be more likely to go along with change under the leadership of they can trust. Conclusion The results of my individual performance at Synergetic shows that my decisions lead to a total revenue growth of over 6,050,000 with a networking revenue of eighty percent. The message from Harold Redd, CEO says that by my  decisions the company has a launch pad to succeed in the networking solutions market. Even though not all the decisions made were the best, my ability to overcome those decisions. Leadership and ability to manage change has enabled the company to boost revenue. Bob’s anxiety mainly stems from his specific phobia. Under classification of Specific phobia, Bob is portrayed as a person with many psychological disorders which makes him afraid of virtually everything. Bob’s description of worry highlights his specific phobia which in this case is the fear of diseases and germs. After consulting a book listing all the Axes of the DSM-IV, I have come to a conclusion that what Bob really suffered from was histrionic personality disorder; a personality disorder is a condition in which an individual displays a pattern of excessive emotions and attention seeking (Bornstein, 1999). This condition is not only expressed through his other disorders but also through his exaggerated sounds, actions, and facial expressions used to call attention. Other diagnoses based on DMS were; Axis I (code: 300.21) – which is agoraphobic disorder accompanied by a collection of specific phobias, Axis II (code: 301.6) –which depends on personality disorder and has a characteristic acute separation anxiety, Axis III (code: 300.09) –which is based on what is not known, Axis IV (code: V62.89) –which depends on lives alone, and Avis V-which focuses on global assessment of functioning. Within the movie a number of treatments were used on Bob. The use of pills and extensive knowledge of them represents his frequent biological treatment. In the beginning of the movie, Bob describes his feelings as good, wonderful and great to highlight his state of mind as a response to a form of cognitive therapy (Rupke, Blecke, Renfrow, 2006). The main therapy focused on the use of what is described as Baby Steps which is a form of cognitive therapy or possibly systematic desensitization-like. Bob learned a way of thinking in a smaller perspective. This is perhaps true because Bob in this case was not exposed to his normal fears beyond his mastery but to real death threat. His living alone pre-empties his lonely life; he has no family relation to turn to for love and emotional attachment (Rupke, Blecke, Renfrow, 2006). Thus, involving him in a world of people may provide him with a meaningful emotional supportive and consequently reduce his craving for attention and eventual extinction of other disorders arising from his histrionic personality disorder. Throughout the move, Bob’s behavior does not seem to possess any threat to his own life and others and as a result there in no point of reporting his case to a legal institution by the therapist. His behavior is characterized by a remarkable fear of the world around him throughout the movie. However, from his dealing with Dr. Marvin, his behavior are portrayed as annoying and as a result, his therapist should uphold professional code of ethics to overlook his behavior and instead concentrate on administering therapy on the patient. Dr Leo Marvin In the very beginning of the movie he is always positive with Bob telling him that there is always hope for him to get better. He is also assertive because he not only tries to help Bob, but he gives him ways to try and help himself. Throughout the rest of the movie, Dr. Martin becomes aggressive towards Bob. When Bob continues to call and follow him, he gets mad and has a plan to get rid of his him. On realizing Bob has become too much of a bother he takes him to a mental hospital. Also at Dr. Marvin’s birthday party Bob shows up. Displeased with the presence of Bob, Dr. Marvin becomes greatly angered and takes a negative path or mechanism to address his own anger: The mechanism involves the following three ways: denial, displacement and projection. In addressing denial Dr. Marvin who is seen throughout the movie as envio us and jealous of Bob’s credit and attention from his (Dr. Marvin’s) family refuses to admit his feelings. Bob is seen to gain attention from Dr. Marvin’s family for being sensitive and a good listener, qualities which said to be lacking in Dr. Marvin (LeMaistre, 1985). This makes Dr. Marvin to feel that his patient is taking over his credit. Projection is the second coping mechanism that Dr. Marvin takes. Projection involves blaming another person for one’s faults. In the movie, Dr. Marvin easily gets angered with Bob and as a result projects his anger in Bob forgetting that he is a patient who needs his medical attention and not blames for what wrongs are going on in Dr. Marvin’s life. For example, blaming Bob for not taking a good posture in the Good Morning America’s camera and his family affairs. The third defensive mechanism of Dr. Marvin is displacement. In displacement an individual transfers emotions from the original source to the other. In this case Dr. Marvin who is a psychiatrist becomes unable to manage his anger and instead decides to project it to Bob and his own family. He shouts at Bob constantly throughout the movie and this way, he displaces his anger to Bob. He subsequently, on realizing that Bob is fondly accepted by them, develop an intense fear of being abandoned by his loved ones and therefore attempts to avoid the reality of imagining abandonment. This disorder lures him to engage in risky and impulsive behavior of wanting to kill Bob, this later on leads to his self -destruction (house explodes). He also suffers from histrionic personal disorder, his self- centeredness does not allow him stare the family taking more notice of Bob. He is not ready to neither apologize nor invite Bob for supper. He quickly shifts from emotions and being overly sensitive to criticism from his wife about Bob. Other psychosocial issues emanates within the family more so with the wife, theirs is a ‘broken relationship’ he does not rise up to their expectation, he is not comic, always stern and stubborn. Lastly, Axis V (code: 297.1) rates Dr. Marvin as a person with appreciable difficulties in coping with life both psychosocially and functionally. In the movie, Dr. Marvin is portrayed as jealous and envious of the good reputation of his patient. When his wife comments Bob as sensitive and attentive (good listener), Dr. Marvin becomes envious of Bob because he lacks the reputation and pushed to the extreme with jealousy and envy, he plots to administer death therapy on Bob. This attribute of Dr. Marvin impairs him from doing his work normally and instead plots to kill his own patient. Socially, Dr. Marvin is unable to socialize with his family because of his strictness and insensitivity. This makes his family to turn to Bob, an act which makes the doctor to feel alienated from his own family and starts blaming his patient, Bob for it.Psychologically, Dr. Marvin is portrayed in the movie as a patient of many psychological disorders as compared to Bob, his patient. He is unable to accommodate his patient and instead plots to kill him. Dr. Marvin is unable to control his anxiety and choses to displace and project it to his family and Bob. He blames Bob for what goes wrong in his life. Talk therapy and psychotherapy would certainly suit well for this good doctor, though according to Michelle (1987), Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy (BCT) could prove to be the best instrument in allowing the Psychiatrist to develop new coping skills, way of thinking and healthy behavior towards his patient and family members (Michelle, 1987). Dr. Marvin is a patient that possesses a threat to others. This is seen in his attempt to administer death therapy to Bob and the way he projects h is predicaments onto his family and Bob as well. It is important that such behavior of Dr. Marvin be made known to an established legal system so that incase it rises to endanger people around him, the therapist is not to blame. When handling a patient of such a nature, it is important that a therapist adhere to the highest code of ethics and overlook the patient’s utterances which might not be good and concentrate on administering effective treatment to the patient. In conclusion, the movie What About Bob is more than what appears on the surface as a dealing between Bob Wiley as a patient and Dr. Marvin as his psychotherapist. It is a complex comic which in the beginning presents Bob as a troubled patient with many Psycho-social disorders. A better approach is to seek a management style that includes all ages and doesn't disrespect the values of the others. According to Remke (1999, p 8), the multi-generational management style will need to be acceptable to the attitudes and temperament of the individual manager. The purpose of this paper is to provide information about the various values, attitudes, goals, and motivations that affect the four distinct generations and examine the implications that these differences have for the workplace. This paper will additionally make recommendations in regards to how this information might be used to develop a management style that is tune with today's multi-generational workforce. Of course, every manager will need to develop their own unique style  based on their individual characteristics. However, this paper will show that there are some universal management techniques that can be used to bridge the age gap in the workforce.

Quinapril HCl (QUI) and Hydrochlorthiazide (HCTZ) Literature LITERATURE REVIEW Reema jaiswal, Pinak patel et al., (2013) developed and reported a new simple, sensitive, rapid, accurate, precise and economical RP-HPLC method for the simultaneous determination of Quinapril HCl (QUI) and Hydrochlorthiazide (HCTZ) in their combined pharmaceutical dosage form using potassium Dihydrogen Phosphate buffer (pH 4.0 adjusted with Ortho Phosphoric acid):Acetonitrile(70:30v/v) mobile phase, and C18 column ODS(100 mm x 4.6 mm,3.0ÃŽ ¼ particle size) as stationary phase with detection wavelength of 215 nm. Linearity was obtained in the concentration range of 5-25 ÃŽ ¼g/ml for both the drugs. The % recoveries of the both the drugs were found to be 99.50 – 101.50 % and 99.00 101.06%respectively.The LOD were found to be 0.014ÃŽ ¼g/ml and 0.013ÃŽ ¼g/ml at 215 nm for QUI and HCTZ respectively. Methods were statistically validated for Accuracy, precision, specificity, LOQ, and robustness according to ICH guidelines and can be used for analysis of combined dosage form. Serkan ALTUNSOY, Burà §in BOZAL-PALABIYIK, Bengi USLU et al., (2013) developed and reported a RP-HPLC method for the simultaneous determination of quinapril (QNP) and hydrochlorothiazide (HCZ) in pharmaceutical dosage forms. In this method quinapril, hydrochlorothiazide and perindopril (internal standard) were separated using a reversed phase column (Hichrom C18; 250Ãâ€"4.6 mm i.d.; 10 ÃŽ ¼m) with acetonitrile: potassium dihydrogen phosphate (at pH 2.5; 0.067 M) (40:60 v/v) as a mobile phase using UV detector at 211 nm and flow rate was 1.0 ml/min. The retention times for quinapril, hydrochlorothiazide and perindoprile were 4.391, 3.237 and 3.931 min, respectively. Linearity was obtained in the concentration range of 2-30 ÃŽ ¼g/mL for QNP and 1.25-18.75 ÃŽ ¼g/mL for HCZ. The proposed method has been fully validated and method is simple, rapid and suitable for quality control (QC) applications. Khan SA, Kulkarni SS, Biyani KR and Khan BA et al., (2013) developed and reported a simple, sensitive, accurate and reproducible method for simultaneous estimation of Quinapril and Hydrochlorthiazide by the Simultaneous equation method, using methanol as solvent. The two wavelengths 257 nm ÃŽ »max of Quinapril Hydrochloride (QNA-H) and 271 nm ÃŽ »max of Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) were selected for the formation of Simultaneous equations. The two drugs follow Beer-Lambert’s law over the concentration range of 5- 30 ÃŽ ¼g/ml of QNA-H and 2.5 – 15 ÃŽ ¼g/ml of HCTZ. Recovery study was performed to confirm the accuracy of the method. The recovery of the Quinapril Hydrochloride and Hydrochlorothiazide were found near to 100 %. The Results were found to satisfactory and reproducible. The methods were validated as per ICH guidelines. Reema Jaiswal, Pinak patel et al., (2013) developed and reported a new economical Derivative Spectrophotometric method for the simultaneous determination of Quinapril HCl (QUI) and Hydrochlorthiazide (HCTZ) in their combined pharmaceutical dosage form was developed and the absorbance of the solutions were measured at 242.45 nm (ÃŽ »1), and 257.17 nm (ÃŽ »2) for the estimation of both the drugs. The linearity was obtained in the concentration range of 80-240 ÃŽ ¼g/ml for QUI and 10-50 ÃŽ ¼g/ml for HCTZ The mean recovery was 99.93 – 100.33 % and 99.06- 101.25% for QUI and HCTZ respectively. The results of analysis have been validated statistically as per ICH guidelines. Gandhimathi and Ravi et al., (2013) developed and reported an ion-pair HPLC method has been developed and validated for the estimation of quinapril and hydrochlorothiazide simultaneously in combined dosage form. The mobile phase used was a mixture of 0.1% v/v triethylamine (pH 3.5), containing 1M of hexane sulphonic acid: acetonitrile (30:70% v/v). The detection was carried out on photo diode array detector at 220 nm. The proposed method can be successfully used to determine the drug contents of marketed formulation. Girija B. Bhavar, V.A Chatpalliwar, D.D. Patil and S.J. Surana et al., (2008) developed and reported HPTLC method for simultaneous estimation of Quinapril and Hydrochlorthiazide in pharmaceutical formulations. The drugs were separated on silica gel 60 F254 plates using suitable combination of solvents as mobile phase. The validation parameters, tested in accordance with the requirements of ICH guidelines, prove the suitability of methods. Mariusz Stolarczyk, Anna Maalanka, Anna Apola et al., (2013) developed spectrophotometric and chromatographic-densitometric methods for determination of losartan potassium, quinapril hydrochloride and hydrochlorothiazide in pharmaceutical preparations. The measurements were carried out at ÃŽ » = 224.0 nm for quinapril, ÃŽ » = 261.0 nm for hydrochlorothiazide and ÃŽ » = 270.0 nm for losartan when the derivative spectrophotometry was applied and ÃŽ » = 317.0 nm when zero order spectrophotometry was applied for the determination of hydrochlorothiazide. In chromatographic-densitometric studies high performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) plates were used as stationary phase and a mixture of solvents n-butanol : acetic acid : water (15 : 5 : 1, v/v/v) as mobile phase. Under the established conditions good resolution of examined constituents was obtained. Retardation factor for quinapril hydrochloride was Rf ~ 0.70, for losartan potassium Rf ~ 0.85 and for hydrochlorothiazide Rf ~ 0. 78. The developed methods are characterized by high sensitivity and accuracy. For quantitative analysis, densitometric measurements were carried out at ÃŽ » = 218.0 nm for quinapril, ÃŽ » = 275.0 nm for hydrochlorothiazide and ÃŽ » = 232.0 nm for losartan. Kunal Makwana, Reena V Dhamecha, Nilesh Pandya et al., (2011) developed a rugged and economic method for the estimation of quinapril and its metabolite in human serum by lcms/ms detection for clinical trials. Ramipril was used as internal standard for quantitation of Quinapril, and it metabolite from human serum. Linear regression with 1/X2 weighting was performed to determine the concentration of the drug from serum . A common solid phase extraction procedure for the isolation of drug and its metabolite was developed from serum samples. The samples were analyzed on API 3200 Triple quadrapole mass spectrometer using Chromolith, RPà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ 18e column in atmospheric pressure electro spray ionization. The mobile phase composition was an isocratic mixture of 0.01% Ammonia in water: acetonitrile (30:70 %v/v). The method was validated over a linear range of 10 – 1000 ng/mL and the limit of quantification was 10 ng/mL. Recoveries were observed above 70% for all the three analyt es. The storage stability of Quality control samples was investigated under various conditions Wagh, Hapse. S. A.; Kadaskar, V. S.; Dokhe, P. T.; Shirsath, A. S. et al., (2012) developed a method for the estimation of hydrochlorothiazide in tablet dosage form. This analytical method developed for the estimation of hydrochlorothiazide in bulk fluids showed maximum absorbance at ÃŽ »max of 272 nm in distilled water and in 0.01N NAOH between 200 nm and 400 nm of UV scan. The method developed was validated for accuracy, linearity, limit of detection and limit of quantitation studies. The above analytical parameters indicated that the developed UV Spectrophotometric method of hydrochlorothiazide was simple, accurate and reproducible. Neela M Bhatia, Rituraj B Desai and Swapnil D Jadhav et al., (2012) reported a simple spectrophotometric method development for simultaneous estimation of Losartan Potassium (LOS) and Hydrochlorothiazide (HCT) in two component tablet formulation. The method employed is a first order derivative spectroscopy. The wavelengths used for detection were 257 nm for LOS and 243 nm for HCT. Linearity was observed in the range of 10-90 ÃŽ ¼g/ml for LOS and 2.5-22.5 ÃŽ ¼g/ml for HCT. The recovery studies confirmed accuracy of proposed method and low values of standard deviation confirmed precision of method. The method is validated as per ICH guidelines. R. K. Patel, J. B. Patel et al., (2011) developed accurate, precise and sensitive UV spectrophotometric method for the determination of Nebivolol Hcl (NEB-H) and Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) in bulk as well as in the pharmaceutical formulation. Calibration curves were linear in range of 10-80 ÃŽ ¼g/mL (r2=0.999) and 2-16 ÃŽ ¼g/mL (r2=0.998) at ÃŽ »max of 281 and 271nm for Nebivolol HCl and Hydrochlorothiazide respectively. The method was validated statistically. Monika L. Jadhav, Manoj V. Girase, Shripad K. Tidme et al., (2014) developed two UV spectrophotometric methods and validated for simultaneous estimation of valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide in a tablet dosage form. The first method employed solving of simultaneous equations based on the measurement of absorbance at two wavelengths, 249.4 nm and 272.6 nm, à °Ã‚ Ã…“† max for valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide, respectively. The second method was absorbance ratio method, which involves formation of Q-absorbance equation at 258.4nm (isoabsorptive point) and also at 272.6nm (à °Ã‚ Ã…“† max of hydrochlorothiazide). The methods were found to be linear between the range of 5–30 à °Ã‚ Ã…“†¡g/ml for valsartan and 4–24 à °Ã‚ Ã…“†¡g/ml for hydrochlorothiazide using 0.1N NaOH as solvent. The mean percentage recovery was found to be 100.20% and 100.19% for the simultaneous equation method and 98.56% and 97.96% for the absorbance ratio method, for va lsartan and hydrochlorothiazide, respectively, at three different levels of standard additions. The precision (intraday, interday) of methods was found within limits (RSD Shilpa Korti, Channabasavaraj KP, Somashekar PL et al., (2014) reported a new, simple (RP-HPLC) method and validated for simultaneous estimation of Moxonidine(MOX) and Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) in bulk drug and tablet dosage forms. The separation was achieved by using C8 Phenomenex Luna (250 x 4.6mm, 5ÃŽ ¼m) column with a mobile phase acetonitrile and formic acid solution (0.2%v/v) in the ratio 50:50 by using flow rate of 0.8 ml/min and detection wavelength at 245 nm. The retention times of MOX and HCTZ were found to be 3.0 and 4.8 min and the calibration curves were linear (r2=0.999) over a concentration range from 1-35ÃŽ ¼g/mL for MOX and HCTZ respectively. Limit of detection (LOD) and Limit of quantitation (LOQ) were 0.08ÃŽ ¼g/mL and 0.1ÃŽ ¼g/mL for MOX and 0.2ÃŽ ¼g/mL and 0.4ÃŽ ¼g/mL for HCTZ respectively. The developed method was validated as per ICH guidelines and the results were found to be within the limits. So it can be used for the routine quality control of MOX and HCTZ in bulk sample and tablet dosage forms. Vidhya K. Bhusari, Sunil R. Dhaneshwar et al., (2011) reported a new and accurate HPTLC method for simultaneous estimation of Atenolol, Hydrochlorothiazide and Amlodipine Besylate as the bulk drug and in tablet dosage forms by using aluminum plates precoated with silica gel 60 F254 as the stationary phase and chloroform: methanol: acetic acid (8: 2: 0.2 v/v/v) as mobile phase. Densitometric evaluation of the separated zones was performed at 232 nm. The three drugs were satisfactorily resolved with RF values 0.22  ± 0.02 and 0.36  ± 0.02, 0.55  ± 0.02 for Atenolol, Hydrochlorothiazide and Amlodipine Besylate, respectively. The accuracy and reliability of the method was assessed by evaluation of linearity (100-600 ng/spot for Atenolol, Hydrochlorothiazide and Amlodipine Besylate), precision (intra-day % RSD was 0.37–1.19 and inter-day % RSD was 0.69–1.11 for Atenolol, intra-day % RSD was 0.49–1.16 and inter-day % RSD was 0.50–1.23 for Hydrochlorothiazi de and intra-day % RSD was 0.59–0.84 and inter-day % RSD was 0.60–0.91 for Amlodipine Besylate), accuracy (99.93  ± 0.43 for Atenolol, 99.92  ± 0.72 for Hydrochlorothiazide and 99.87  ± 0.63 for Amlodipine Besylate), and specificity in accordance with ICH guidelines. Havaldar Freddy H and Vairal Dharmendra L et al., (2010) developed a simple, specific (RP-HPLC) method and validated for the determination of atenolol, hydrochlorothiazide, losartan and valsartan. Separation was achieved with a Nucleodur 100 C–18 column having 250 x 4.6mm i.d. with 5ÃŽ ¼m particle size and potassium dihydrogen phosphate buffer adjusted to pH 3.0 using diluted ortho phosphoric acid and acetonitrile (50:50 v à ¢Ã‹â€ Ã¢â‚¬ ¢ v) at flow rate of 1.0ml/min using UV detection at 210nm. The retention time of atenolol, hydrochlorothiazide, losartan and valsartan was about 1.99min, 2.90min, 5.92min and 9.42min respectively. The proposed method was validated and successfully used for estimation of atenolol, hydrochlorothiazide, losartan and valsartan in the pharmaceutical dosage form.
